Swedish TT news agency wins the EANA "Maxim Minchev" Award for News Agency Quality 2026
Swedish agency recognised for Elephant CMS, its in-house newsroom production system
The European Alliance of News Agencies (EANA) has awarded the 2026 "Maxim Minchev" Award for News Agency Quality to TT News Agency (Sweden) for the Elephant CMS, a content management system that gives news agencies full control of the production process, from the first event or idea through planning to the delivery of all types of editorial content.
The Elephant CMS has been in daily use at TT for a year and a half and is now also offered as a SaaS product. Norway's NTB became its first external customer in May 2026, and, according to TT, the system has run with zero downtime, including through one of the biggest news days in NTB's recent history.
"TT's Elephant CMS shows what happens when a news agency treats technology as a natural part of its editorial processes," said Ion-Alexandru Giboi, Secretary General of EANA. "Our member news agencies operate in a specific way, with speed and scale few newsrooms can match, and they can only keep doing so if they stay close to the latest technological developments, from collaborative tools to AI-ready data. TT built a solution for itself and then made it available to its peers, which is exactly the spirit of innovation and cooperation this award is meant to honour."
The award highlights a priority shared across the EANA membership: news agencies that stay in step with technological change are better placed to improve their newsrooms, serve their clients faster and safeguard the quality of the information they deliver.
