Another unfortunate and sad news from one of our members, the Portuguese national news agency LUSA. Our colleagues are suffering deeply and mourning the loss of their friend and co-worker Pedro Camacho, CIO of LUSA. Please read the following message from Monica Garcia, Chief Marketing Officer of LUSA:

"It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing away of our colleague Pedro Camacho, Chief Innovation Officer of Lusa.

Born on July 29th, 1961, Pedro Camacho died yesterday, December 5, at the age of 59, victim of COVID-19. Editor-in-Chief of LUSA between 2015 and 2018, Pedro Camacho later took over as Chief Innovation Officer, a position he currently held. Previously he had been a journalist for Diário de Notícias and Público, leading the economics editorials, and later was director of Visao magazine for ten years.

At LUSA, Pedro Camacho stood out for his recognized ability to aggregate wills and resolve conflicts, having certainly the recognition of these characteristics by all colleagues. These are deeply sad and shocking days for the entire LUSA community, as we pay homage to the good man in whose life we were lucky enough to meet, to the Editor in Chief and Chief Innovation Officer, professional and companion, to the voice that still echoes fresh in our memory.

The EANA community shares the grief of our colleagues in LUSA for the loss of Pedro Camacho, and wishes strength to his family.
